What this page is for
The SpeakRadio Audio plugin adds a “Generate the audio” button to the WordPress editor. Your readers can then listen to the article instead of reading it. The WordPress area page manages the key that links your site to your account.
Creating an API key
- Open the API key tab.
- Optionally give the key a name (“WordPress plugin” by default).
- Click Generate a key.
- Copy the key shown in the box immediately.
Good to know :
One key is enough for a whole site. The table shows the status of each key and the number of calls made; the Revoke button disables it immediately.
Warning :
The key is displayed only once. After that, only its prefix stays visible. If you lose it, revoke it and generate a new one.
Installing the plugin
- Download the archive from the Installation tab.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins › Add New › Upload Plugin, choose the archive, then activate.
- Open Settings › SpeakRadio Audio and enter the API address along with your key.
- Load the list of voices, pick the one for your site, then open an article and click Generate the audio.
Credits and top-ups
The Top up tab offers credit packs aimed at WordPress sites, which can be bought without a subscription.

Good to know :
An article's audio is cached: you only pay once per article, even if it is played thousands of times. Above 6,000 credits, a bespoke pack can be quoted.
